Minimum Days!

As a reminder, this Friday, December 15 is our first minimum day of this month. The second minimum day is on Tuesday, December 19 and there will be no after-school this day for winter break. Please don’t forget the schedule as follows:

No After-School Days

As a reminder, there will be no after-school classes this Wednesday, December 13 and Thursday, December 14 to allow our JICS teachers to prepare for our Christmas Performance!
다가오는 12월 13일 수요일과 12월 14일 목요일에는 JICS 선생님들이 크리스마스 공연을 준비할 수 있도록 방과후 수업이 없음을 다시 한번 안내해드립니다.
As mentioned previously, there will also be no after-school on Tuesday, December 19 for winter break.
앞서 말씀드린 바와 같이 겨울방학을 위해 12월 19일 화요일도 방과후 수업이 없습니다.
National Speech Competition
전국 스피치 대회
We had 14 students compete in the National Speech Competition last Saturday, December 2. Regardless of awards and placement, we are so proud of all our students who competed, as they gave an excellent performance!
지난 토요일, 12월 2일 전국 스피치 컴페티션에 14명의 JICS 학생들이 참가하였습니다. 수상 내역을 떠나, 훌륭한 발표를 마친 우리의 모든 학생들이 매우 자랑스럽습니다.

2023 JICS T-Shirt Competition Voting
티셔츠 디자인 공모전 투표
We invite our JICS families to join us in voting for our 2023 JICS T-Shirt Design Competition!! Students have begun voting for their top 3 designs at school and we would love to have families join in as well, especially as some parents submitted designs as well!
2023년 JICS 티셔츠 디자인 공모전에 JICS 가족 여러분을 초대합니다!! 학생들은 이미 학교에서 상위 3개 디자인에 대한 투표를 시작하였고, 일부 학부모님께서도 디자인에 참여하셨기에 가족 여러분께서 투표에 참여하여주시기 바랍니다.
For each JICS student, up to 2 ADULTS may submit their top 3 votes. The last day to make a vote will be Monday, December 18 at 5:00 PM.

December Spirit Day: Pajama Day

The third spirit day of this month is this Friday, December 15: Pajama Day! Come out of bed and straight to school in your comfy pajamas to receive house points.
As a reminder, parents are welcome to help students earn extra house points by submitting group family pictures with their families dressed up to our spirit days in the link below!

Winter Break
겨울 방학
Winter break will start from Wednesday, December 20 to Wednesday, January 3! We hope you have a great time spending the holidays with your families.
겨울 방학은 12월 20일 수요일부터 1월 3일 수요일까지 입니다! 여러분 모두가 가족들과 함께 연휴를 보내며 즐거운 시간을 보내길 바랍니다.
All grade school students will be returning to school on Thursday, January 4! Happy Holidays!
모든 초중고 학생들은 1월 4일 목요일에 학교로 돌아옵니다! 행복한 방학 보내세요!
Spring Tuition Regular Due Date
봄학기 등록금 납부일
The first deadline for the Spring 2024 Tuition payments is from Dec 20-22. Invoices will be sent out by email and print (sent home through students) on December 11.
2024년 봄학기 등록금 납부 1차 마감일은 12월 20일부터 22일까지입니다. 인보이스는 12월 11일에 이메일 및 인쇄물을 학생을 통해 가정으로 발송할 예정입니다.
For credit card payments: For parents hoping to send their credit cards through their child for processing, you may do so early on Dec 18-19 before winter break begins.
카드 결제의 경우: 납부를 위한 신용카드를 학생을 통해 보내기를 원하시는 학부모님의 경우, 겨울방학이 시작되기 전 12월 18일부터 19일까지 카드를 보내주실 수 있습니다.
Request for Official Documents
공식 서류 요청
As a reminder, any request for formal documents (Certificate of Enrollment, Withdrawal Form, etc.) will take a minimum of 3-4 days for processing whereas recommendation letters will take up to 1-2 weeks to process.
모든 공식 서류 (재학증명서, 자퇴원서 등) 요청은 최소 3~4일이 소요되며, 추천서는 1~2주가 소요됨을 재안내드립니다.
Additionally, the “Request for Withdrawal” form must be turned in a month prior to the last day if a student needs to be withdrawn from JICS.
학생이 JICS에서 자퇴해야하는 경우에는 “자퇴요청서”를 마지막 등교일로 부터 한달 전에 제출하셔야합니다.

Going Home Time/하교 시간
After lunch, all students and teachers will go to Chowon Church by bus. There will be no after-school classes on this day. All students must be picked up or will ride the bus from Chowon Church when regular school time is over. All students are to return to Chowon Church by 5 PM to prepare backstage.
점심 시간 후 모든 학생들과 선생님들은 학교 버스를 타고 초원교회로 이동할 예정입니다. 공연 날은 방과후 수업은 진행되지 않으며, 정규 수업 시간이 끝나면 모든 학생들은 초원 교회에서 하교하게 되거나 스쿨버스를 통해 하교하게 됩니다. 모든 학생들은 오후 5시까지 초원교회로 돌아와 준비하게 됩니다.
Exceptions 예외:
Jr High & High School students may stay at Chowon Church until the performance starts (please pack dinner/snacks). If they are to ride the bus or will be picked up, please be sure to let the office know.
중고등학생들은 공연 시작 전까지 초원교회에서 머물 수 있습니다 (저녁/간식을 챙겨주세요). 버스를 타거나 픽업 예정인 학생은 반드시 학교 오피스에 알려주시기 바랍니다.

[3rd Grade] Weekly Challenges
[3학년] 추가 챌린지
This week’s challenge for our third-graders to obtain extra credit will be to complete ‘cursive writing’ handwriting practice worksheets and create a Christmas card design! Please send picture evidence of your students completing these challenges so that they may receive extra credit.
