Our Annual Speech Competition is finally coming up next Tuesday, November 21 and Wednesday, November 22!!!
11월 21일부터 22일까지 열리게 되는 연례 스피치 컴페티션이 일주일 앞으로 다가왔습니다!!!
Due to the sudden spike in illnesses amongst our students and teachers, we have changed the location of our speech competition for Tuesday. We believed that going back and forth between locations would increase the likelihood of more students and teachers potentially getting sick due to the cold weather.
학생들과 선생님들 사이에 유행하는 독감으로 인하여 화요일로 예정되어 있는 스피치 컴페티션 장소가 변동되었습니다. 추운 날씨 가운데 장소 이동이 많은 학생들과 선생님들의 건강에 안좋은 영향이 될 것이라는 판단이 있었습니다.
The location for the competition is no longer at Chowon Church, but on JICS campus.
컴페티션의 장소는 초원 교회가 아닌 JICS 학교 캠퍼스에서 진행됩니다.
As the day of the competition is coming close, we ask that parents please encourage and help your children practice their speeches at home over the weekend!
컴페티션 날이 다가옴에 따라 학부모님께서는 주말 동안 가정에서 자녀들이 스피치 연습을 할 수 있도록 격려해 주시고 도와주시기를 부탁드립니다.
As a reminder, please help us with encouraging the students through emphasis on their efforts, rather than on winning or losing.
학생들의 승패가 아닌 노력을 강조하며 격려할 수 있도록 도와주시기를 다시 한번 안내해드립니다.

Thanksgiving Potluck
추수감사절 포틀럭
Our Annual Thanksgiving Potluck Event is coming up next Thursday, November 23! This event is one of our most loved events by ALL our students and teachers.
모든 학생들과 선생님들이 제일 기대하는 연례 추수감사절 포트럭이 다음주 목요일, 11월23일에 있습니다!
Please check your messages to see if the dish your student has requested has been confirmed. If you need to change your dish or have any questions please let us know. (Note: Desserts and drinks will no longer be accepted as there are too many desserts and drinks!)
학생이 요청한 요리가 확정되었는지 문자 메시지를 확인하여주세요. 또한 요리를 변경해야 하거나 질문이 있으시면 오피스로 연락해주세요

All dishes must arrive to the office by 10 AM! Please make sure to label any and all tupperware/bags on the bottom with the student’s name and grade so that items don’t get lost.

No School: U.S. Thanksgiving Holiday

As a reminder, there will be no school on Friday, November 24th to allow our teachers the time to be able to spend the US Thanksgiving Holiday with their loved ones!

Uniforms for Winter Time!
겨울을 위한 교복!
Our long-sleeved uniforms are now in stock for the winter time! More sizes of our grey hoodies, sweaters, and long-sleeved pique shirts have arrived on campus and are available for purchase!!
다가오는 겨울을 대비하여 긴팔 교복를 다시 입고하고 있습니다! 더 많은 사이즈의 회색 후드, 맨투맨, 그리고 긴팔 피케이 셔츠가 다음 주에 입고된 후에 구매 가능하십니다.
Parents are welcome to visit, call, or message the office to order any additional uniforms. We will also send out an order link next week for additional sizes and the option of selecting special fleece-lined sweaters or hoodies as well.

JICS will continue to strictly enforce our uniform policy throughout all the seasons, so we hope that these additional designs and categories of clothes will help maintain that while keeping our students warm.
JICS는 모든 학기에 엄격한 교복 정책을 유지함으로, 이러한 추가적인 디자인과 종류의 교복이 학생들의 따듯한 학교 생활에 도움이 되기를 바랍니다.
**Once we complete the voting and ranking of our T-Shirt Design Competition, the design will also be produced as a new uniform for JICS as well!
**티셔츠 디자인 공모전의 투표 및 순위 결정이 완료되면, 수상 디자인은 JICS의 새로운 유니폼으로 제작될 것입니다.
Health & Safety | Mask
건강 및 안전 | 마스크
In light of the increase of student and teacher illnesses, it will be mandatory for all students to come with a mask starting next week. We will keep this mask policy for one week and continue to monitor the conditions.
아픈 학생들과 선생님들이 증가함에 따라 다음 주부터 모든 학생들의 마스크 착용이 의무화 됩니다. 일주일간 이 마스크 정책을 유지하고 상태를 지속적으로 지켜볼 예정입니다.
We ask for your understanding, as teachers have been getting ill, along with a significant number of students being absent.
상당수의 학생들과 선생님들이 결석한 관계로, 협조와 양해 부탁드립니다.
[3rd Grade] Weekly Challenges
[3학년] 주간 챌린지
Last week, our third-grade teachers began to prepare weekly challenges for our students to complete for extra credit! These challenges are completely optional and will be sent out every Monday. Please send picture evidence of your students completing these challenges so that they may receive extra credit.
지난 주부터 우리의 3학년 선생님들께서 학생들의 추가 점수를 위한 주간 챌린지를 준비하였습니다! 이 챌린지는 온전히 선택 사항이며 매주 월요일에 공지 될 것입니다.
학생들의 추가 점수를 위하여 챌린지를 완료하는 모습을 사진으로 기록하여 보내주세요.

Next week there will be no Newsletter of the Week sent out as the school is busy preparing for the Speech Competition and Thanksgiving Potluck! On the other hand, we will be sending out the monthly newsletter for December in the last week of November. Thank you.
