Fall 2023 Midterm Exam
가을학기 중간고사
Great job to all our students for completing their 2023 Fall Midterm exams! For some students, it was their first midterm ever. Teachers will be going over the test and test scores in the upcoming week. Students who have missed an exam for any reason will have the opportunity to make up their tests next week.
2023년 가을학기 중간고사는 11월 6일 월요일부터 11월 8일 수요일까지 계속됩니다. 학생들이 공부하도록 격려해주시고 충분한 휴식을 취할 수 있도록 해주세요. 매일 밤 숙면을 취하는 것은 시험을 공부하고 암기력과 집중력에 도움이 될 것입니다!
Uniforms for Winter Time!
겨울을 위한 교복!
We are restocking on our long-sleeved uniforms in preparation for the winter time! More sizes of our grey hoodies, sweaters, and long-sleeved pique shirts will be arriving on campus next week and will be available for purchase.
다가오는 겨울을 대비하여 긴팔 교복를 다시 입고하고 있습니다! 더 많은 사이즈의 회색 후드, 맨투맨, 그리고 긴팔 피케이 셔츠가 다음 주에 입고된 후에 구매 가능하십니다.
We will also be sharing a purchase link with parents for additional sizes and the option of selecting special fleece-lined sweaters or hoodies as well.
또한 추가 사이즈와 스페셜 후리스와 후드티들에 대한 구매 링크를 곧 부모님들께 공유해드릴 예정입니다.
JICS will continue to strictly enforce our uniform policy throughout all the seasons, so we hope that these additional designs and categories of clothes will help maintain that while keeping our students warm.
JICS는 모든 학기에 엄격한 교복 정책을 유지함으로, 이러한 추가적인 디자인과 종류의 교복이 학생들의 따듯한 학교 생활에 도움이 되기를 바랍니다.
**Once we complete the voting and ranking of our T-Shirt Design Competition, the design will also be produced as a new uniform for JICS as well!
**티셔츠 디자인 공모전의 투표 및 순위 결정이 완료되면, 수상 디자인은 JICS의 새로운 유니폼으로 제작될 것입니다.

Labeling Items

As the weather is getting colder and students are coming to school with winter jackets, please make sure students’ outerwear are getting labeled with their first and last initial so it doesn’t get lost!
날씨가 점점 추워지며 학생들이 겨울잠바를 입고있으니, 학생들의 옷에 이름표(첫번째와 마지막 이니셜)를 붙여서 잃어버리지 않도록 해주세요.
Water Bottles
물병
If you are sending your student to school with mixed drinks (like 보리차, 율무차, tea, etc.) in their water bottles, please help us by teaching and reminding our students to not dump out the remainders in the school sinks as they can cause the sinks to clog up!
만약 학부모님들께서 보리차와 같은 혼합 음료(보리차, 율무차, 차 등) 를 학생들의 물병에 준비해주고 계시다면, 세면대에 남은 음료를 버리는 것이 세면대를 막히게 할 수 있으니 버리지 않도록 지도하여주세요!
Spring ‘24 Early Bird Tuition Due

As a reminder, if you have requested an Early Bird Tuition for the ‘24 Spring semester, the early bird payment period is November 15 to November 17.
2024년 봄 학기 등록금 얼리버드를 신청하셨다면, 11월 15일부터 11월 17일 수납 기간 안에 납입 하여주세요.
Invoices will be sent out on Monday, November 13 by email and a physical copy through the student.
인보이스는 11월 13일 월요일에 이메일과 학생을 통하여 인쇄본을 발송될 것입니다.

November Challenge
11월달의 도전
This month we are promoting fitness and health by having JICS students invite their family members to participate in various exercises or physical activities during the weekend. Each student has taken home an exercise log containing various exercises the student/family can choose from for extra house points!
이번 달에 우리는 JICS 학생들이 주말동안에 가족들과 함께 다양한 운동과 활동을 하며 체력과 건강을 증진시킬 것입니다. 학생들은 하우스 포인트를 위해 학생들과 가족들이 선택할 수 있는 다양한 운동이 포함된 운동 일지를 집으로 가져갔습니다!
Students will also be participating in physical activities at school to increase health with their homeroom teachers and classmates, for extra house points as well!
또한 학생들은 자신의 담임 선생님과 반친구들과 함께 다양한 운동과 할동을 통해 추가적인 하우스 포인트을 얻으며 체력을 기를 것입니다!

JICS Speech Competition
JICS 스피치 컴페티션
We are only about 1.5 weeks away from our Annual Speech Competition scheduled to take place on November 21-22!!! All of our students and teachers have been working hard to practice memorizing and understanding their speeches. In order for students to maximize the practicing, we ask that parents please encourage and help your children practice their speeches at home as well!
11월 21일부터 22일까지 열리게 되는 연례 스피치 컴페티션이 일주일 앞으로 다가왔습니다!!! 우리 학생들과 선생님들 모두 스피치를 연습하고, 암기하며, 이해하기 위해 각고의 노력을 하고 있습니다. 학생들이 최대한 연습할 수 있도록, 부모님들께서도 집에서 학생들의 연설 연습을 격려하고 도와주시기를 부탁드립니다!
As a reminder, parents are welcome to come watch students presenting their speeches on November 21. We encourage parents to come cheer and encourage our students as they have worked hard to prepare for this day. Just as a small reminder, please help us with encouraging the students through emphasis on their efforts, rather than on winning or losing.
학부모님들께서는 11월 21일날 학생들의 발표를 참관하실 수 있습니다. 우리 학생들이 이날을 위해 열심히 준비한 만큼 학부모님들께서 오셔서 응원해주시고 격려해주실 수 있습니다. 학생들이 대회의 승패보다는 자신의 노력을 더 중시할 수 있도록 함께 격려해주세요.

Thanksgiving Potluck
추수감사절 포틀럭
Our Annual Thanksgiving Potluck Event is on November 23! This event is one of our most loved events by ALL our students and teachers.
As a reminder, the sign-up sheet that was sent home with the November Monthly Newsletter last week is due on November 13. Please be sure to fill out the form and submit it to your child’s homeroom teacher by next Monday.

Sign-ups will be based on a first-come-first-serve basis. If there are too many sign-ups of the same time or dish, we may request parents to change!

[Jr High/HS] UAC Experience
[중/고등학생] UAC의 날
IGC’s University of Utah has invited our JICS students to come and experience their 13th UAC Day! This is an event where Junior High and High School students can experience a “day-in-the-life” of a UAC student.
인천글로벌 캠퍼스의 유타 대학교에서 열리는 제13회 UAC DAY에 우리 JICS 학생들을 초대하였습니다. 우리 중,고등학교 학생들이 유타 대학교 학생의 삶을 경험할 수 있는 행사가 될 것입니다.
Students will be attending sample lectures of all majors at the Asia Campus taught by professors at the University of Utah Asia Campus, and they will also get a chance to interact with some of the current students.
참가하는 학생들은 유타대학교 아시아 캠퍼스 교수님들 모든 전공의 샘플 강의에 참석하게 되며, 현재 대학생들과 교류 할 수 있는 기회가 될 것입니다.

[HS] SUNY Korea Experience
[고등학생] 뉴욕 주립대 체험의 날
IGC’s SUNY Korea is hosting a SUNY Korea Experience Day on November 25th. This event is designed to give prospective high school students and parents a taste of SUNY Korea’s community.
인천글로벌캠퍼스의 뉴욕주립대가 11월 25일 SUNY Korea Expreience 데이를 진행합니다. 이번 행사는 예비 고등학생 및 학부모님들에게 뉴욕주립대 커뮤니티를 경험해볼 수 있는 시간이 되도록 마련된 행사입니다.
Students meet and talk with professors, attend sample lectures and talk with Student Ambassadors while parents can attend information sessions while students are listening to lectures.
학생들은 교수님들과 만남의 시간을 가지며 샘플 강의에 참석하고 학교 홍보 대사들을 만나게 되며, 학부모님들께서는 학부모 설명회에 참석하실 수 있습니다.
