JICS Annual SPEECH COMPETITION JICS 스피치 대회
All our students and teachers have been working hard to prepare for JICS’ Annual Speech Competition. More information regarding our competition will go out in the monthly newsletter next week!
모든 학생들과 교사들은 JICS의 Speech Competition 준비를 위해 열심히 노력해왔습니다. 대회에 관한 자세한 내용은 다음 주 월간 뉴스레터를 통해 알려드릴 예정입니다!
National Speech Competition 전국영어스피치대회
The Korean National Speech Competition is an optional and non-JICS affiliated event; however, JICS students have taken part [and have received many awards] during the years of participating.
The competition will be conducted at Sangmyung University again this year. As this is an independent event by the National Speech Organization, transportation will not be provided by JICS.
For students who sign up, teachers will continue to practice their speeches with them in preparation for the National Speech Competition even after the JICS Speech Competition is completed.

전국영어스피치대회는 JICS가 주최하는 행사가 아닌 선택사항이지만, 지난 수년 동안 JICS 학생들은 이 대회에 참가하여 많은 수상을 해왔습니다.
올해도 상명대학교에서 대회가 진행됩니다. 이 대회는 해당기관에서 주최하는 독립적 행사이기 때문에, 본교에서 교통편을 제공해드리지 않습니다.
대회 참가신청을 한 학생의 경우, JICS 스피치 대회가 끝난 후에도 국제영어스피치 대회를 대비하여 선생님들이 지속적으로 대회준비를 위한 스피치 연습을 도울 예정입니다.

National History Day Competition - NHD 국제역사대회
As JICS is preparing for our first ever History Fair, we will also be attending the NHD Competition for the first time! This competition is an optional and non-JICS affiliated competition; however, we believe that it will be a great experience for our Jr. High and High Schools students.

[Passion Project] Volunteer Event
Our recent MOU-Partner, Love Jjangi Organization has invited the JICS community to participate in their annual Kimchi-making for the less fortunate volunteer event. We’re excited for our Passion Project students to be able to go out and volunteer off-campus together for the first time and to give back to a great cause.

[6-7th Grade] Art Materials
G6-7 Students were asked to bring acrylic paints, flat brushes, paper or regular art palette by this upcoming Monday.
Please ensure they are well-prepared so there are no disruptions during class.

Fall Semester Midterm Exams are coming up on November 6-8 for students in 4th grade and up! Teachers will begin reviewing materials for the exam in the upcoming week, so please help encourage your students to study hard for their tests!
4학년부터의 모든 학생들은 11월 6~8일에 가을학기 중간고사를 치를 예정입니다! 선생님들께서 다음 주부터 시험에 필요한 자료를 복습할 예정이니, 학생들이 열심히 공부할 수 있도록 도움 부탁드립니다!
1-3rd grade students will not have midterms but will have cumulative review tests or chapter tests.
1~3학년 학생들은 중간고사가 없지만 누적 복습 시험 또는 단원 시험을 치르게 됩니다.

Fall 2024 MAP test results will be emailed to parents by next Friday, November 1st!

Annual Thanksgiving Potluck 추수감사절 포틀럭
We will be holding our Annual Thanksgiving Potluck Event on November 28! This event is one of our most loved events by ALL our students and teachers.
오는 11월 28일에는 추수감사절 포트럭 행사가 열립니다! 이 행사는 모든 학생과 선생님들이 가장 사랑하는 행사 중 하나입니다.
The sign-up sheet with directions will be sent home with students next week with our Monthly Newsletter. (Sign-ups will be based on a first-come-first-serve basis.)

No scary, violent, bloody, or horror-related costumes allowed
No costumes that imply evil, haunted, death
Refrain from dressing up as a “villain”
No Satan, Devil, or ghost-related behavior or costumes
No pranks that hurt others or themselves
