Back to School Night

This upcoming Wednesday, September 25, is our Back to School Night for the 2024-2025 School Year!
This evening is a night for our parents to meet their child’s teacher and to learn how their classes will run. Teachers will go over rules, expectations, and hopes for the school year, while answering any questions parents may have about assignments, homework, or class procedures.
1-3rd Grade: No Students
4th - 8th Grade: Students may attend. Student Translators must attend.
There is no Back to School Night for High School!

이 날 저녁은 학부모님들이 자녀의 선생님을 만나고 수업이 어떻게 진행될지 알아보는 밤입니다! 교사들은 학년에 대한 규칙, 기대치 및 희망 사항을 검토하면서 과제나 수업 절차에 대해 학부모가 가질 수 있는 질문에 답변합니다.
1 ~ 3학년: 해당 학년 학생들은 참여하지 않습니다.
4학년 ~ 8학년: 학생들은 참석 가능하고, 통역 학생의 경우 반드시 참석해야 합니다 !
고등학생은 백투스쿨나잇을 하지 않습니다.

10/1 New goverment mandated national holiday
10/1 새로 지정된 공휴일
The Korean government recently announced October 1st as a new “red” make-up holiday date.
As it is a newly mandated national holiday by the Korean government, there will be no school on this day, Tuesday, October 1st.
한국 정부는 최근에 10월 1일을 대체 공휴일로 지정했습니다.
이 날은 한국 정부에 의해 새로 지정된 공휴일이므로, 10월 1일 화요일에는 휴교입니다.
Holiday: National Foundation Day
연휴: 개천절
Reminder that there will also be no school next Thursday, October 3rd in honor of National Foundation Day, and Friday, October 4th for Teachers In Service Day.
다가오는 10월3일 목요일은 개천절로 인해 휴교임을 안내드립니다. 그리고 10월 4일 금요일은 교사 연수일입니다.
Fall 2024 MAP Exams
가을학기 맵시험
Students who need to make up the Fall MAP Exams for any reason will be pulled out from their classes this week to make up their exams.
Thank you to all our parents for helping make the exams go so seamlessly!
가을 MAP 시험을 재응시해야 하는 학생들은 이번 주에 수업 중에 시험을 보게 될 것입니다.

학교와 하우스 정신을 보여주기 위해 각 하우스 색깔로 옷을 맞춰입고 오세요!
All students know which JICS House they are designated and what color their House Color is! Elementary students were sent home with a “First Day of School” sheet for their parents noting this as well.
모든 학생들은 자신의 하우스와 하우스컬러가 무엇인지 알고 있습니다! 학부모님들을 위해 "First Day of School" 안내문을 초등부 학생들 편에 집으로 보냈습니다.
Hallelujah Day Theme

Next week, students will be given the opportunity to vote for the 2024 Hallelujah Day theme!
다음주에에 학생들은 2024 할렐루야 데이 테마를 투표하는 기회를 갖게 됩니다.
As a Christian school, we celebrate Hallelujah Day in place of Halloween. Students are invited to dress up according to the theme and to have fun with their friends on this day, receiving treats and goodies from JICS Teachers.
기독교 학교로써 우리는 할로윈 대신하여 할렐루야 데이를 기념하게 됩니다. 학생들은 이날의 테마에 맞춰 복장을 입도록 초대될 것이며 그날은 JICS 선생님들로부터 간식과 선물을 받으면서 친구들과 함께 즐거운 시간을 보내게 될 것입니다!
