JICS T-Shirt Design Competition! JICS 티셔츠 디자인 공모전!
To kick off the 2023-24 school year, we are having a school-wide JICS Shirt Design Competition! The winning design will officially be added into our school uniform policy, and the design will be made.
2023-24학년도 시작을 하면서, JICS 티셔츠 공모전을 갖게 되었습니다. 당선된 디자인은 학교 공식 교복으로 채택 될 것이며 티셔츠로 제작이 될 것 입니다.
ALL ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE!! Students, parents, teachers, etc. are all welcome to participate or help!

This month we will be having a school-wide Kindness Bingo challenge to encourage students to reflect on what kindness is to them and to promote kindness in school and at home!
이번달에는 학생들에게 친절함이 무엇인지, 학교와 집에서의 친절함을 반영시키기 위하여 학교전체의 Kindness Bingo 챌린지를 진행 할 것입니다.

Chuseok and Foundation Day Holiday 추석 및 개천절연휴
As a reminder, there is no school for the Chuseok Holiday and National Foundation Day next Thursday, September 28 - Tuesday, October 3! All students will return on Wednesday, October 4!
9월 28일 목요일부터 10월 3일 화요일까지 추석 및 개천절의 학교 휴무일임을 다시 알려드립니다. 모든 학생들은 10월 4일 수요일에 돌아오게 됩니다.
Uniform Dress Code Policy 유니폼 복장 규정
As a reminder, JICS’s Dress Code Guideline is:

Tops: any JICS t-shirt
Bottoms: white, beige, black, or blue bottoms
Shoes: closed-toed shoes only (no sandals or crocs); sneakers must be worn on P.E. days

신발: 발을 감싸는 신발 (샌등, 크록스 안되); PE시간에는 운동화 착용 필수

Students who do not adhere to the guidelines will be given Uniform Slips which may lead to yellow/pink slips.

JICS Annual Charity Marathon 연례 자선 마라톤
We are happy to announce that our Annual Charity Marathon is coming up!!!
우리의 연례 자선 마라톤이 다가오고 있습니다!!
In the past few years, our marathon ran during the Spring semester due to COVID restricted delays. This school year our Charity Marathon event has been moved back as a Fall semester event.
지난 몇년간 우리의 마라톤은 COVID 제한으로 인해 봄학기에 진행되었습니다. 이번학년도에는 우리의 자선 마라톤이 가을학기 행사로 돌아왔습니다.
This event is where JICS students, family members, and teachers gather together to run together to raise money to donate to our designated charity organization. This upcoming Fall 2023 Charity marathon will be our 7th one! Our event has shown significant improvement every passing year, with our JICS students and families raising more and more for a great cause.
이 행사는 JICS학생들, 가족들, 그리고 선생님들이 우리가 지정한 자선단체에 기부금을 모으기 위해 함께 모이는 행사입니다. 2023년 마라톤 대회는 벌써 우리의 7번째해를 맞이하게 됐습니다. 멋진 목적을 위해 JICS 학생들과 가족들이 점점 더 많은 모금을 하면서 해가 갈수록 행사가 더욱 더 발전해 왔습니다.
Through this charity event, our students not only gain education on topics such as poverty, hunger, and the needs of those less fortunate around the world. This event specifically is a hands-on opportunity for our students to experience what it means to take action in raising awareness and tangibly giving back!
자선 행사를 통해서, 우리의 학생들은 가난, 굶주림 뿐만 아니라 세계 각 곳에 도움이 필요한 이들에 대한 교육도 받게 될 것입니다. 그러나 이 기회는 인식을 높이고 실제적인 베푸는 행동을 취하는 것이 무엇을 의미하는 것인지도 실제로 경험하게 됩니다.
Since 2020, our JICS Passion Project Team (charity fundraising team made up of Jr. High and High School students) had begun leading this event. Our Passion Project leaders will be going around into elementary grade classrooms to present about the organization we will be giving to this year and educating them about the cause, as well as what our elementary students can do to give back.
2020년 부터 JICS 열정 프로젝트(Passion Project)팀 (중/고등학생들로 구성된 자선 모금 팀)이 이 행사를 이끌기 시작했습니다. 우리의 열정 프로젝트 리더들은 초등학교 교실을 돌아다니며 올해 우리가 자선 할 단체와 이유에 대해 설명하고 초등학생들이 베풀기 위해 무엇을 할 수 있는지 교육할 것입니다.
This is one of our events we do as a whole JICS family, and we’re so glad that we are able to do it for a great and meaningful cause. Please mark your calendars for our 7th Annual Charity Marathon!
이 행사는 JICS 가족들이 다 함께하는 행사 중 하나이며 이 훌륭하고 뜻 깊은 목적을 우리가 함께 할 수 있다는 것이 매우 기쁩니다. 우리의 7번째 연례 자선 마라톤의 날을 위해서 그 날을 달력에 표시해 주세요!

Hallelujah Day Theme
할레루야 데이 테마
Next week, students will be given the opportunity to vote for the 2023 Hallelujah Day theme! As a Christian school, we celebrate Hallelujah Day in place of Halloween. Students are invited to dress up according to the theme and to have fun with their friends on this day, receiving treats and goodies from JICS Teachers.
다음주에에 학생생들은은 2023 할렐루야 데이 테마를 투표하는 기회를 갖게 됩니다. 기독교 학교로써 우리는 할로윈 대신하여 할렐루야 데이를 기녀념하게 됩니다. 학생들은 이날의 테마에 맞춰 복장을 입도록 초대될 것이며 그날은 JICS 선생님들로부터 간식과 선물을 받으면서 친구들과 함께 즐거운 시간을 보내게 될 것입니다.
In order to give parents a proper time to find a costume, we will be announcing the theme in September!
의상을 찾는데 적절한 시간을 부모님께 드리기 위해서, 9월달에 테마를 안내 할 것입니다!
